Parents' questions
My child has never played chess. Is that okay?
Yes. HobiDoo's Foundation course introduces chess pieces, their moves and the rules through play. A coach can confirm the suitable starting level during a free trial.
What are 1:1 and Buddy classes?
1:1 classes are private coaching. Buddy classes pair two learners matched by HobiDoo according to level. Buddy prices are per child; a friend or sibling is not required.
How often are classes held?
Classes are held twice a week. Foundation includes a weekly quiz; Beginners and Intermediate include a weekly master class; Advanced includes a weekly opening class.
How do you decide my child's level?
HobiDoo offers Foundation, Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced courses. Find the Right Class and the five-puzzle Level Check offer provisional starting suggestions; a coach confirms placement during the trial.
What packages and prices are available?
Foundation offers 10-, 20- and 30-class packages. Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced offer 10 to 60 classes in steps of 10. Current package totals and discounts appear in Pricing. Each Buddy package costs 65% of the matching final 1:1 package price per child.
How can I book a free trial?
Complete the free trial booking form on this page with your child's details, parent contact information, country, time zone and English comfort. Submitting a request does not confirm a class time; the team will arrange the next steps.
Can we choose class timings?
Share your country and time zone in the trial form. Contact support@hobidoo.com or WhatsApp +91 99209 75150 to confirm available class slots and lesson duration.
What if my child misses a class?
Contact support@hobidoo.com to confirm the applicable absence and rescheduling terms before enrolling. A replacement lesson is not guaranteed.
Can my child play in tournaments?
HobiDoo courses include a weekly tournament and a monthly prize tournament. The team can confirm participation details and upcoming schedules.
Will I see my child's progress?
Ask your child's coach or contact support@hobidoo.com about progress updates. Confirm the reporting format and frequency with the team before enrolling.
What do we need for online classes?
Online lessons generally require an internet-connected device. Ask the HobiDoo team to confirm the lesson platform, device requirements and any other setup before your trial.
Who are the coaches?
HobiDoo provides coach-led online chess lessons. Contact support@hobidoo.com for information about the assigned coach, teaching experience and qualifications.
Can we get a refund?

Do classes need English?
The trial form asks whether your child is comfortable in English. Share your language needs with the team so they can confirm suitable coaching arrangements.

What age can my child start?
